Beauty and the Geek coming to Ithaca
Beauty and the Geek is coming to Ithaca to cast their 5th season. They are looking to hire casting interns immediately to help out with the casting process. The only requirement for this position is that you MUST HAVE AN OUTGOING PERSONALITY. Students would be allowed to put on their resumes that they worked as casting interns for Beauty and the Geek for the CW network. Interviews for potential cast members will be held Sunday, November 11 (place TBD). New TV-R Chair to start January 1, 2008
Dr. Nancy Cornwell will join the Television-Radio faculty as associate professor and chair beginning January 1, 2008. Dr. Cornwell is coming from Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon where she is an associate professor and chair of the Department of Mass Communication. At Linfield, Dr. Cornwell is responsible for teaching video production, web design, media law, and the First Amendment. She will be teaching a section of Government and Media at the Park School next semester. Stay tuned for details on a meet-the-new-chair session in the spring semester.

Minor Applications Due October 25
Applications for the minors in the TV-R Department are due October 25, 2007. Please remember to include an unofficial transcript, including this semester's mid-term grades, along with the application forms. Applications can be turned into Karen Armstrong in Park 376.

Bunim-Murray Productions will be visiting campus on November 8 to interview students for internships and jobs. During their visit, they will be recruiting for the following opportunities:

Fox 44 in Vermont Seeks Full-Time Newscast Producer
The ideal candidate will have: a bachelor's degree in journalism or communications; one year previous producing & writing experience; a passion for news and excellent news judgment. Also, this person will have knowledge of storytelling with high production values, be creative and innovative in their approach to producing. Must be able to develop sources and bring original content to the news. This person will also contribute news to the website. Fox 44 is a startup news operation and will offer full health and dental benefits, and a 401k plan.
