Would you like to produce a trailer for a network television program?

Well now you can. Be a part of PROMAX/BDA’s First Collegiate Challenge! Together with The CW and BLiNK, PROMAX is searching for college students with the drive and talent to catch the eye of electronic media marketing professionals from around the world. The challenge is a creative contest. The goal is to create a compelling video that creates a buzz for the popular CW show, Supernatural. You’ll be provided with footage from the show and given the opportunity to dazzle us with your creative vision. Trailers will be judged on their ability to:

1. Capture viewers’ attention
2. Convey the network’s message about the show
3. Present the material in an original and compelling manner

A super internship opportunity at New York State radio and TV stations

39 participating NYS radio and TV stations offer paid summer and semester internships through the New York State Broadcasters Association internship program. See http://www.nysbroadcasters.org/
The list of participating stations and contacts is attached.
Details:
- $7.00 an hour, 180 hours commitment
- First half of internship the intern rotates through departments.
Second half, the intern works in their department of choice.
- Applicant must be between ages 17-21 and either NYS resident or
attending NYS school
- Internship does not have to be for credit.
- In cover letter, reference the NYS Broadcasters Assoc. internship
program, and include resume
- No particular deadline, rolling applications, but the summer internships
fill quickly

Bayliss Scholarships

This is a reminder that the application for the 2007 Bayliss Scholarship is available online. Juniors, seniors and entry-level graduate students who have maintained a 3.0 GPA or better are encouraged to apply. Although financial need is a consideration, students of merit with an extensive history of radio-related activities are given preference. From Recent Grad -- John Neurohr

John Neurohr who's at George Washington University for graduate school. He's interning at the Institute for Politics Democracy and the Internet. They sponsor the Politics Online conference.

John is looking for some Park students to help at the Politics Online conference (http://polc.ipdi.org) - There's a list of things students will get to help with below. The students will get to meet people from consulting firms, internet advertising agencies.

He's found housing at a good price. There will be food at the conference.

This is a great resume builder and a chance to meet people who need to hire media types.

The conference is March 15-16, 2007 (Thursday and Friday)... The conference website is http://polc.ipdi.org/

The students would (among other things):
- Conduct interviews with conference participants
- Help edit video for immediate posting on the conference Vlog
- Aid in conference logistics (power points, videos, audio, etc.)
- Shoot footage of conference events, panel discussions
- Help write conference Blog posts regarding specific panel issues

* Have the oppurtunity to make great contacts with numerous PR/online media/marketing/general communication (video ads/radio spots) groups WHO ARE
